These are the tools and software I like to use in my daily work, personal ventures and entertainment. I like to use and support open source software as much as possible.
Hardware
- Laptop - My laptop is an HP Omen 15 and it has served me well these past three years both for work and gaming.
- Monitor - I use a 24 inch AOC monitor but I can't remember the exact one, I just know I got it on a cheap budget.
- Keyboard - I use the Ajazz AK820 mechanical keyboard and I absolutely love it, it's has a great quality-price ratio. Nothing like a good click clack typing sound to help with productivity!
Software
- Linux Mint (Open Source) - I finally dropped Windows and now use Linux as my new OS. I couldn't be happier with this choice. I'm using Mint as my Linux distro as it was really beginner friendly for a Windows user and looks nice.
- Visual Studio Code (Open Source) - For now I'm still using VS Code as my IDE even though I'm growing increasingly annoyed with it, but the extensions I use are too helpful in my workflow to go back to something like Notepad++, and I don't have the patience right now to learn Vim, but maybe in the future.
- Figma - I start with FigJam as my whiteboard to plan out the structure and design, and then I use Figma to design all my websites. I would like to find a good open source alternative to this that I could use locally on my laptop, if you know any, let me know! :)
- Astro (Open Source) - My love for Astro knows no bounds. When I was really demotivated and making websites and coding just wasn't fun anymore, I discovered this framework and it brought back joy and desire for me to keep working in this field.
